Used for what? I see them in plenty of places, but whether they are really useful is perhaps a question.

I have heard people say they are useful in presentations to outline the key ideas – as a slide or even animation up before the presentation.

But in terms of my usual slant towards analysis and considered understanding, well, no, they’re more descriptive than specific!
